Happy Birthday Monroe

Monroe is 12 today.  She celebrated early this morning by not listening to me and chasing after the evil woodchuck that was checking out the new garden plot Art has been working on the past few weeks.  Monroe chased the woodchuck back into the woods and I got to chase along behind Monroe - barefoot and still in my pajamas - to try and convince her to stop.  Monroe wasn't even willing to acknowledge I was part of the chase.  She seems very pleased with herself now.  Her role as guardian of the garden is confirmed and the woodchuck better go elsewhere in search of a salad bar snack.  Later in the afternoon Monroe enjoyed a roll in the freshly cut grass followed by a nap in the shade.  She is such a sweet girl it's hard to be angry with her.
